William Howard Heal Norman (1905-1987) was a missionary to Japan. He was born in Japan, the son of missionaries Daniel and Catherine Norman. He returned with his wife Gwen R.P. Norman as a missionary in 1932 and remained.Fonds consists of biographical information; correspondence, primarily from Japan to family members, 1925-1981; letters with other correspondents such as Earle Birney, Edmund Blunden, Rev. C.M. Stewart, Robert and Kyoko Grant, Roger Bowen, Edwin Reishauer, Chujo Kazuo, Howard W. Outerbridge, Charles Holmes; letters re Howard Norman's death; articles, clippings, and typescripts of manuscripts, certificates, memoribilia and photographs; citation from Kwansei Gakuin, 1979; Order of the Rising Sun medal and scroll, 1983
